Upon completion of the Faculty Certification Workshop, faculty are expected to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

  • Applies theory to practical situations.

  • Prepares a syllabus for each class that is clear and easily understood.

  • Debriefs cases so students better understand the learning experience.

  • Gives assignments that challenge the student leading to mastery of the material.

  • Gives feedback on written and verbal work that helps students improve.

  • Listens to students' questions for understanding.

  • Presents information in a lively, well-organized manner.

  • Positively reinforces students for participating in class.

  • Gives students additional help when asked.

  • Brings current information to class for discussion.

  • Frequently refers to materials in text and module during class.

  • Easily and openly admits when he/she does not know the answer.

  • Sets forth work/grading requirements early and helps students understand them.

  • Is friendly and social to students.

  • Begins and ends class on time.

  • Can explain University of Phoenix policies and procedures to students.
